Dings, Hearts and Likes
For us at UnFamous Movement, sometimes social media (SM) is the elephant in the room and we have to check ourselves to ensure we are not being hypocritical. For us, living an UnFamous lifestyle through our pillars of value, mindfulness, learning and exploration often conflict with how we use social media to promote our company. So we ask ourselves, how do we promote our business and encourage people to invest in and live the lifestyle, and encourage everyone to just do whatever it is they love to do (reading, exercising, traveling, hiking, etc)? Our answer: moderation.
Our goal is not to inundate you with Facebook and Instagram posts or blogs. Even if we wanted to, it’s unfeasible because we still have full-time nine-to-fives and each with exciting life-altering events on the horizon. For you as the customer, we don’t need you to catch every post and you don’t need to read every single blog. And while we are excited with each new follower that jibes with our message, we don’t have any expectations that you need to rush and see what the latest UnFamous update is. While we love that we get the dings, hearts and likes - it’s not our end all be all.
Our end all be all is you - the UnFamous Community - regardless of how small or large. So we’re going to push out messaging and promote our new products at a reasonable pace to ensure your feeds aren’t overwhelmed. Blogs won’t be longer than 2 pages to give you time to digest. And when we scale up to other SM platforms, we’ll do our damndest to be consistent. Because, we want you to be living in the moment and cherishing your time by doing something better than scrolling through and staring at your phone or computer all day; especially if you already do it for work. Unless that is, if you absolutely love to do it, and it brings an inexorable amount of meaning, value and joy to your life.
Just remember, we want you to be the best you. Because if you are the best you, you will help make us a stronger community. We believe that when we are happy, we are at our best. If we may be honest, our world needs a lot more happy and community.
